How to vote? Or must I vote? This project was aimed to convince all those, who were doubtful about the process of voting. It was a group project done by 3 of my classmates and me. We put up posters and magnets all around of the major polling places in downtown Chicago (Daley Plaza). Here's what the design looked like.
So this was an experimental project. Aim: To use alphabets as non-recognizable graphic forms, so that they lose their symbolic meaning. Materials used:Soup cans, Font: Gill Sans, and a white shelf for display. Method: Created patterns using the alphabets to achieve the above.
1. Typographic announcement design for a music concert (B&W) • Simply using type. • Study of grids and alignments.
2. Typographic book covers (B&W) • Simply using Type • Study of symmetries, activation of blank space, contrast, hierarchy and proportions.
3. Page Layouts (B&W) • Simply using type and necessary graphic elements. • Strictly modernist. • Study of blank space activation, hierarchy, contrast and dynamic layouts.
A person with numerous interests, who finds it hard to keep up with all of them. Typography and design being the prime ones. A second year Visual Communication student at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
